Three major tropical breeds are found in Nigeria, there is need to examine their milk composition in order to enhance the awareness for nutritional significance. A comparative study on milk composition and secretion rate of West African Dwarf (WAD) and Red Sokoto (RS) goats was carried out in Abeokuta, the South-West Nigeria. Samples of colostrum and milk were analysed for total solids, fat, lactose, crude protein, ash, phosphorus and calcium. The WAD goats had a significant higher protein contents in both milk types despite the higher secretion rate observed in RS goats however, RS had a significant higher lactose and phosphorus contents in milk than WAD. From this study it is concluded that breed difference occurs both in the quality and quantity of milk produced by WAD and RS goats. Despite its low secretion rate, milk from WAD goats are of high quality compared to that of RS goats which secret more milk than WAD goats.","merchants_number":1,"ean":9783659431494,"category_id":103,"size":null,"min_price":36.85000000000000142108547152020037174224853515625,"low_price_merchant_id":1087639,"ID":4348256,"merchants":["dodax"],"brand":"undefined","slug":"evaluation-of-goat-milk","url":"\/unterhaltung\/produkt\/evaluation-of-goat-milk\/","low_price_merchant_name":null}

Prevention and early treatment is important because diabetes interrupts normal developments in children and carries the threat of severe complication in more active period of life (Agrawal et al., 2004). Camel milk is different from other ruminant milk as it is low in cholesterol, sugar and protein but high in minerals (sodium, potassium, iron, copper, zinc and magnesium), vitamin A, B2, C and E and contains a high concentration of insulin and immunoglobulins (Kamal et al., 2007 and Al-Hashem, 2009). A 30-35% reduction in daily insulin dose required by patients with type I diabetes was observed in response to treatment with raw camel milk (Agrawal et al., 2002). I.e. Conventional feeding programs are conceived to stimulate starter consumption to improve rumen development and wean calves as soon as possible. This work consists on four studies that compare conventional and enhanced-growth feeding programs. In all the studies, conventional-fed calves consumed more starter during the preweaning period than enhanced-fed calves, but this difference was only maintained until one or two weeks after weaning. The metabolic profile is a significant marker of physiological and reproductive status and serves as a diagnosis of many sub clinical diseases. Cream may have thickening agents and stabilisers added without this needing to be declared on packaging, depending upon the jurisdiction. It was found that CMT gel is a DNA\/histone\/surfactant complex, which is a time- and shear-dependent, non-Newtonian fluid. Since the reliability of the CMT hinges on the correlation between viscosity and somatic cell count (SCC), this study investigated specific factors that may influence gelation. These were rheology, testing conditions (such as time delay), shear rate, temperature, surfactant type and concentration, and milk composition.It was found that when using capillary or Brookfield viscometry a linear relationship exists between the viscosity of the gel and the SCC, however, Brookfield viscometry was found to be more sensitive at the lower SCC range.","merchants_number":1,"ean":9783639049152,"category_id":103,"size":null,"min_price":47.39999999999999857891452847979962825775146484375,"low_price_merchant_id":1087639,"ID":4769912,"merchants":["dodax"],"brand":"undefined","slug":"the-rheology-of-gel-formed-during-california-mastitis-test","url":"\/unterhaltung\/produkt\/the-rheology-of-gel-formed-during-california-mastitis-test\/","low_price_merchant_name":null}
