Ein Fest zum runden Geburtstag! D\u00e4pp l\u00e4dt ein und l\u00e4sst mit grosser Kelle anrichten, muss aber erfahren, dass sich die logistischen Probleme bei der Organisation eines solchen Festes h\u00f6her t\u00fcrmen als die Probleme fr\u00fcher im beruflichen Alltag. Ohne Politik geht es auch in D\u00e4pps neuem Buch nicht, denn auch Politiker werden \u00e4lter, und ihre retrospektiven Selbstvorw\u00fcrfe offenbaren sie keiner Sonntagszeitung, wohl aber dem barmherzigen Satiriker D\u00e4pp. So bl\u00e4st alt Regierungsrat Oberholzer nur noch Tr\u00fcbsal, und alt Grossrat Kaderli Hans-Ueli gr\u00e4mt sich \u00fcber all das, was er w\u00e4hrend seiner Zeit im Parlament unterlassen hat. Immerhin leistet alt Grossratsgattin Kaderli R\u00f6si als Gemeindepr\u00e4sidentin von Bl\u00fcmliswil Erstaunliches und rettet so die Ehre der Classe politique. Mit Ironie bricht D\u00e4pp der Nostalgie die Spitze, mit Heiterkeit entsch\u00e4rft er die M\u00fchsal des Alters und stimmt Kr\u00fcmeler bei, wenn er den Lauf der Zeit mit stoischer Gelassenheit akzeptiert: \u00abEs isch n\u00fcmm wi aube. Aber auben isch?s o nid g\u00e4ng gsi, wi?s h\u00e4tt s\u00f6ue. Drum n\u00e4h mer?s; wi?s isch, es w\u00e4r nid besser, we?s w\u00e4r, wi?s s\u00f6tt.\u00bb Heinz D\u00e4pp hat w\u00e4hrend vier Jahrzehnten in verschiedenen Zeitungen und im Radio \u00fcber den Ernst der Lage im Kanton Bern und in der Schweiz berichtet ? bis er nicht einmal mehr sich selber ernst nehmen konnte. Geblieben ist ihm nur noch die Satire.
