Even today, the World Health Organization estimates that up to 80 percent of people still rely mainly on traditional medicines. In fact, many of the current drugs either mimic naturally occurring molecules or have structures that are fully or in part derived from natural motifs. Natural antimicrobials can be derived from various parts of the plant. The essential oil obtained from Ocimum sp contains various antimicrobial properties. Many Ficus species are commonly used in traditional medicine to cure various diseases. Cissus quadrangularis has been reported to include antioxidant activity. Bitter melon stimulate digestive function and improve appetite. The bio active compounds of Aloe vera are effective in treating stomach ailments, gastrointestinal problems. The leaf extracts of Achyranthus aspera were reported to posses thyroid stimulating, antiperoxidative and antifungal activity. This book focus on the bioactive potentials, phytochemical, pharmacological and traditional properties of medicinally important natural plants.","merchants_number":1,"ean":9783659790768,"category_id":103,"size":null,"min_price":31.14999999999999857891452847979962825775146484375,"low_price_merchant_id":1087639,"ID":4635695,"merchants":["dodax"],"brand":"undefined","slug":"pharmacognostic-properties-of-medicinal-plants","url":"\/unterhaltung\/produkt\/pharmacognostic-properties-of-medicinal-plants\/","low_price_merchant_name":null}

Fumes from these fires are responsible for increased indoor air pollution that adversely affects the health of women and children in particular. Pyrolysis of these residues can convert them to charcoal or biochar, a cleaner fuel which is eco friendly in nature. Switching over from biomass fuel to charcoal has major impacts on the economy and social hazards. Extensive research shows that biochar have beneficial effects when added to soils and it offers a bright future for soil improvement. Based on this perspective, the present work has been undertaken with a view to pyrolyse bagasse (fibrous residue of the sugarcane) and collection of the byproducts - biochar and bio-oil or tar . Biochar is amended with soil and the impact of biochar in regulating physiological and biochemical parameters were studied. The antimicrobial and antifungal activity of the tar had also been examined. The chemicals nature of the tar is partially analyzed using SEM and XRD which shows that the toxic component could be eliminated by Pyrolysis.","merchants_number":1,"ean":9783659571695,"category_id":103,"size":null,"min_price":32.64999999999999857891452847979962825775146484375,"low_price_merchant_id":1087639,"ID":4815581,"merchants":["dodax"],"brand":"undefined","slug":"impact-of-bio-char-and-tar-of-sugarcane-bagasse-in-plant-growth","url":"\/unterhaltung\/produkt\/impact-of-bio-char-and-tar-of-sugarcane-bagasse-in-plant-growth\/","low_price_merchant_name":null}

Symptomatology revealed various degrees of mosaic, mild to severe mottling, distortion of leaves, leaf yellowing and reduction in leaf size. Out of the 321 tested leaf samples 109 samples were found to be positive for PVY showing a per cent infection of 33.95 per cent with highest per cent infection in Kolbari area (42.50%) having the highest mean ELISA value for all positive samples (0.286). In the field experiment for management of potato virus Y through integrated approach, it was evident that there was considerably low disease incidence with low vector population in the treatments of bio fumigation with rapeseed plants one month before planting (T4), followed by application of mineral oil @ 5 ml\/lit at 15, 30, 45 and 60 days after transplanting (T2). Portable 2 kWe bio mass gasifier was fabricated and tested. Non edible seed cakes are not used to feed animals feed and it creates land pollution, etc., the non edible oils blended with diesel to operate vehicles. And the same time the utilization of fossil fuels could reduce. But after oil extraction the seed cakes were thrown because the utilization of seed cakes is too difficult. Hence the production of oils and the seed plantation is being decreased. Researchers are focusing the various utilization of seed cake.
