Women are encountered by different kinds of vulnerabilities in pre, post and during floods including social, political, economical and physical vulnerabilities. In this backdrop, women take necessary measures for adapting with flood related hazards. This book aims to look at the role of women in adaptation to flood hazard. The book finds, wome are vulnerable to disasters due to inadequate education, knowledge, vulnerable living places and lack of awareness. The study observed that well equiped shelter centre, long and short term knowledge dissemination training, awareness session on food management and adoptation strategies can protect women from vulnerabilities in disasters.
