Strengthening Youth Leadership in Preventing Violence in Mexico

This book presents the work developed with children and young people from region of La Laguna and men who attend a program dealing with their violence in order to achieve the gender violence prevention, promote a quality of life and assume a protagonist role in the development of their communities. Explores the way in which children¿s participation is given meaning in situations of conflict and post-conflict peace building. In particular, it explores how child-led activities and capacities of girls and boys strengthened can enhance children¿s role as agents of peace. The proposal adopt five working lines: ¿ Literature review on research, and policy concerning children and young people¿s participation. ¿ The skills, knowledge and experience of Collective of New Men of La Laguna and Group of Masculinities, who have contributed to the strategic development of participation within the organisation and created a range of resources to facilitate the participation of children and young people. ¿ The views of sons and daugthers of men who attend to Reflection Groups in Collective of New Men who have had experience of domestic violence or/and crime activities......
