It was established in the 1950s by the Portuguese Community Education and Welfare Foundation Incorporated. Since 1996, the school has been run by Po Leung Kuk. Since the school year 2000/2001, the school has become the pioneer DSS primary school in Hong Kong. There is a multi-cultural environment for the students. Students from 18 different nationalities attend the school. In addition to 30 classrooms, there is a spacious multifunctional air-conditioned school hall, an activity center, a well stocked library, two music rooms and other specially-equipped rooms for visual arts, computer studies, language studies,general studies and remedial teaching.
