Performance of Waste Lubrication Oil Burner in Process Heating

Energy insufficiency is a real threat to industrial and economic development efforts especially for a developing nation like Kenya. Establishment of stable and sufficient energy supply is very vital to the realization of development goals of a country. Supplementary sources of energy, therefore, need to be sought to boost a country's energy bank. Waste lubrication oil (WLO) is a major output from machines lubrication process and its amount is set to increase tremendously with increasing number of locomotives. WLO is also known for its high but untapped heat content which could be a major boost to the energy reserve if properly managed. Therefore, there is need to establish safe mechanisms of disposal of this hazardous waste to protect the environment from harmful pollution and at the same time top up the energy bank for efficient and smooth running of energy-dependent processes.
