Moscow Pride is a banned annual Gay pride event in Moscow, Russia. All Prides were refused Authorization by the Moscow City Hall, headed by Mayor Yuri Luzhkov. The 2006, 2007 and 2008 events have all been marred by anti-gay violence. In 2009, Moscow Pride hosted the first Slavic Gay Pride after Russian and Belarusian activists agreed to unite their efforts.
