Coconut cultivation dates back to many centuries.Its cultivation extends over many parts of the world.The coconut mite attacks young fruits of the coconut palm.Although the mites are small populations can be extremely large and their feeding can cause scarring and distortion of fruits.It is one of the most serious arthropod pests of coconut.The control measures currently employed,including foliar spraying and root feeding of chemical pesticides have proved partial success and causing environmental pollution.Hence the alternative control measures involving the use of ecofriendly biocontrol molecules like botanicals and neem based pesticides were tried for mite management.This thesis dissertation have been divided into many chapters foliar spraying,root feeding method of control,seasonal incidence,bunch preference,survey on the mite incidence,population dynamics and morphometrics mite.So as to enable readers to fully comprehend the information provided their in.Emphasis has been given to provide many management requirement for successful coconut cultivation.
