Indian Women Autobiographies: A study of Gender Identity

The present book focuses on the works of women autobiographies covering a century and a half. It includes the works of Indian women autobiographers namely Laxmibai Tilak, Shaukat Kaifi, Durga Khote, Amrita Pritam, Leila Seth and Kamala Das. All these women have attained a social standing in the society.They challenged the patriarchal set up and make their own identity in their respective professions. Leila Seth is the one who took up the challenge to chose the profession of a lawyer. Shaukat Kaifi and Durga Khote found their career as actors.
