Flood Routing Techniques

Management of water resources is an integral part of engineering, hydrology and geology while also cutting across field of limnology, oceanography and meteorology. The science behind water has been improved upon since early 1900. This book is focused on routing techniques in hydrology with emphasis on Muskingum method for natural stream channels. The design of flood protection schemes in the Muskingum River Basin, Ohio, USA brought about this method of flow routing. The terms flood, flow, stream, river and channel routing were used interchangeably in this volume. The book is written in an easy to follow research style. It reviews literature and cite in every section which is not customary. Data previously worked upon by renowned authors were routed using the Microsoft spreadsheet basic principles with little programming in the MS Excels cells. References to papers cited for nonlinear models may be essential to better understand the philosophy behind nonlinear Muskingum method.
