Fernando Leonel Cortés Monroy (born November 29, 1988 in Pachuca) is a Mexican football striker. He currently plays for C.F. Pachuca in Mexico. The young Cortés, who spent 2 years in the Pachuca youth system, made his professional debut on April 25, 2009 in a 3-0 win against Cruz Azul. He came on as a substitute during the 81st minute. Forwards, also known as strikers, are the players on a team in association football who play nearest to the opposing team's goal, and are therefore principally responsible for scoring goals.
