Magnets in Orthodontics

Magnetism is a virtue that drives the contemporary society. Traditional force delivery systems in orthodontics include the use of wires, springs and elastics. Advantages of magnetic force delivery include good force control at short distances, no friction, and no material fatigue. Magnetic forces have been used in orthodontics for both tooth movement and orthopaedic correction with varying degrees of success.
