Terrorists use cyberspace and social media technology to create fear and spread violent ideologies, which pose a significant threat to public security. Cyberspace is increasingly becoming the platform to promote terrorism because it allows easy access to actors to disseminate information beyond geographic borders. The Internet and social media create alternative realities for actors, and audiences and users are influenced by the information given to them by strangers.
