Food Bank Britain

Aged 15, Ray Barron-Woolford organized a fundraising event to raise money for those starving in Africa. Food Bank Britain tells the story of the author's progression from roller skating fundraiser to London food bank. 40 years on, the author has set up a food bank just 2 miles from the City of London to feed working people, who due to high rents, welfare reforms, utility bills and food prices, along with low pay, cannot afford to eat, so much so that they rummage through bins outside the author's office, looking for discarded food. Food Bank Britain is a story that will shame us all, challenge bigotry and ignorance, and bring about real political change, whilst raising money to fund the food bank and advice and support centre, as well as the 'Summer School Holiday Meals' programme and 'Give a Christmas' appeal....
